After betraying the Soul Society and stealing the Hōgyoku, Sosuke Aizen fled to Hueco Mundo, the realm of the Hollow's. Using the power of the Hōgyoku, Aizen begins to create Arrancar's, stronger versions of Hollow's, to build an army to rule the world of the living.
Although, He soon found that the Hōgyoku, while incredibly powerful as it was, had been partially sealed away by the Soul Society, a large amount of it's power cut off from the clutches of those who would use it for the wrong purpose. Head Captain Yamamoto had sealed the power of the Hōgyoku, locking it away in order to keep it safe. Calling a meeting of all the Captain's of the Soul Society, Yamamoto reveals that the seal of the Hōgyoku can be undone, with the use of six keys.
Although the chances of finding these keys were great, and knowing Aizen would do anything to get them, Yamamoto spread them throughout the land, dividing the six keys amongst the realms. Three of which he gave to trusted spiritually aware civilians residing in Karakura Town, and the other three were given to Captain's of the Soul Society, he himself holding one.
Aizen, furious, begins to build up his army of Hollow's, desperate to unlock the full power of the Hōgyoku and claim his rightful place as ruler. Tension is rising, and Aizen plans his assault on Karakura Town, planning for the Seretei after that. All's fair in love and war, and nobody knows the outcome of this soon to be all-out war between good and evil.
